Iroshizuku yama-guri (wild chestnut brown) is a great dark brown ink with a real classy style. I bought this bottle at Jetpens in Japan.
Iroshizuku yama-guri

Color
The color is described as wild chestnut brown. The color is very dark brown so you will have to look twice to see it is a brown color. The color is very good useable for everyday use due to it's darkness. For business-people it is very suitable. The color has nice shading from light brown to very dark.

Writing
I tried this ink in two pens. The Caran 'd Ache Leman (fine) and the Lamy Safari (fine). I noticed it is not a free flowing ink. It writes kind of dry. On Moleskine paper as well on Rhodia paper no bleedthrough or feathering. Drying is about the same on Rhodia and Moleskine about 7 seconds.

"Iroshizuku yama-guri

Just filled my Lamy Safari Black LE (fine) with Iroshizuku yama-guri. The color does not pretend to be the blackest black. It is some kind of black-brownish shade.

On both Rhodia and Moleskine paper this ink behaves very good. No feathering or bleed through. Nice shading. Writes a little bit dryer then yu-yake or tsuki-yo. Dryingtime on both Rhodia and Moleskine is 5 - 7 seconds.

Wild chestnut brown (dark brown)

Nice sophisticated color. $ 0,45/ml

Moleskinefriendly
Last weeks I reviewed the inks on several Moleskine to test if they are really friendly for Moleskine-paper. With my Pilot Namiki Vanishing Point (medium) I saw some dots coming through. But not so bad that the other side of the page was ruined. So again an ink that has a thumbs up for Moleskine-friendliness.
