J. Herbin Rouge Caroubier (ink review)

Thursday, September 24, 2009

J. Herbin Rouge Caroubier is a French ink manufacturer. I bought this bottle at La Couronne du Comte the Netherlands. They were my first ink's, in exploring the world of fountain pen ink.

Color
The color of the ink reminds a little bit of Iroshizuku momiji. But J. Herbin made the Rouge Caroubier a little bit more red. It is more sparkling in a way. I must see I like the color very much. The French name means

Iroshizuku is a great ink that is produced by Pilot. When the package arrived at my home is was blown away by it's appearance and product design. The names of the ink's sound very exotic. This ink was bought at Jetpens in Japan.

Color
It is a great color. I never seen such a beautiful red. It is kind of red with some pink reminding of strawberry's.

Writing
This ink is very great. I was never more excited about a fountain pen ink (besides Noodler's Black) then this one.

Iroshizuku is a fountain pen ink made by Pilot. I never heard of it until I read a piece on it on The Fountainpen Network. I was not able to find any in Europe. So I ordered some in Japan at Jetpens. A great store but they are not willingly to lower the price in the papers outside the box. So the shipments always must have additional cost in customs. But it is a great store and they have great products and they deliver fast.

The Iroshizuku ink is a luxurious line of inks created to reflect the beautiful natural scenery of Japan. The gorgeous shades will fill your fountain pen with bold, beautiful and vivid colors. Each bottle is a beautifully crafted glass container designed with an innovative dip at the bottom to ensure the savory enjoyment of every last drop. Every bottle has 50ml and are a great piece of art.

The next weeks I'm gonna do all six reviews of the inks I ordered.

Review Caran 'd Ache Storm

Monday, September 7, 2009

I bought this beautiful glass bottle from Art Brown International Pen Shop. Caran ' d Ache was inspired by the colors of the earth. They have nine beautiful colors. Not all are Moleskine-friendly but this amazing color is!

Color
The color is quit distinctive. Not to shiny. But it is a nice deep purple. I think it can be used for businesspeople. The ink has a very nice shading.

Review Pelikan Red Fountainpen Ink

It was my daughter who urged me to buy this ink. She loves the bright red (almost orange) color of it. I bought this bottle at Writer's Bloc. Great shop, fast service!
