Iroshizuku yu-yake (sunset burnt orange) is a great ink from Iroshizuku produced by Pilot. I never had a 'lighter' ink but this one is great. I bought the bottle at Jetpens.

Color
One word "amazing". Maybe it is the fact I never wrote with a lighter ink before. But I really like writing with it. This ink has amazing shading from dark yellow to bright burnt orange.

Writing
Their was some nibcreep with this ink in the Lamy Safari (fine). Nothing though to be worried about. The pen always starts right away. The ink is smooth and gives no problems. On Moleskine paper the drying time was quick about 3-5 seconds. On Rhodia it took a little bit longer.

Written review
Sorry for the yama-guri-ink-dot on the photo below. I had a little accident while making photo's.

For those of you that can't read my handwriting, here's the translation:
"Iroshizuku yu-yake

I just filled my Lamy Safari Orange (fine) with Iroshizuku yu-yake. A very nice name for this great ink.

It is a nice plain orange color. Not to red and not to yellow. It is just good for an orange ink.

This is my second Iroshizuku ink I review. The yu-yake also does not bleed through this Moleskine paper. There's some nice shading in this ink.

On this Moleskine paper the ink takes about 3-5 seconds to dry. On Rhodia it takes a little bit longer.

The ink costs about $ 0,45/ml.

Moleskinefriendly
I almost must say it passes the tests with a glance. No bleedthrough in any of my five different Moleskines with this Lamy Safari (fine). But it is tricky to see due to the lightness of the ink. I think I saw some dots coming through in my plain Moleskine. In all other four no bleedthrough. Also no feathering. Thumbs up!

Nice review! I just got a bottle of this too. My second Iroshizuku, and a new Lamy Safari Limited in orange with a Medium nib to go with it. I can't say I love the combination though. On my Moleskine skectchbook, the ink seems to ball up a bit as I write. Like the surface is greasy or something. But when it dries, it looks fine. It is exceptionally smooth, and the color is great though. I'm considering grinding the nib to an italic. Maybe I'll find what I'm looking for there.

I love your reviews and your photos. They would make wonderful desktop images if they were larger and widescreen :)

I have several Iroshizuku inks that I love, and you are partly responsible. Keep the layout and review style -- fantastic work. Thanks!

It is a good idea, I could add some links to bigger widescreen pictures at the end of a post........ thank you for the tip!

Thanks! The Yu-yake burnt orange ink with the pine cone & Safari make a perfect Autumn desktop. My orange Safari is inked with Habanero right now, but I think I need to get some Yu-yake to really make it happy.
