Iroshizuku yama-budo (Bordeaux)

I love Iroshizuku fountain pen ink. They never let me down in a Moleskine. I ordered this bottle of Iroshizuku yama-budo in september 2009 at Jetpens. They have a great assortment of Iroshizuku inks.

Color
It is a very good saturated purple color. The color has almost no shading with my Pelikan M1000 (fine). The picture below reflects to much pink. In real it is between purple and bordeaux.

Bottle
The bottle is shaped in a way that you can get all the ink out of the bottle till the last drop. In the bottom their is little notch for the nib.

Writing
Writing with the Pelikan M1000 (fine) is always a joy. It lays a good wet line of this beautiful colored ink. It writes smooth as it should be with a fountain pen. Drying time on Moleskine paper between ten and fifteen seconds. On Rhodia paper it takes twice the time almost thirty seconds. It has feathering and ........ their is bleed through on the other side of the paper. To much I must say.

Can't read it? Here's the translation:
"Iroshizuku yama-budo

I filled my Pelikan M1000 (fine) with Iroshizuku yama-budo. It is a great dark bordeaux color. It has great shading. When it dry's it turns from purple to bordeaux.

It is the worst ink of Iroshizuku I tested. The ink feathers a lot and has severe bleed through problems in a Moleskine but also on Rhodia paper. Drying time on Rhodia paper is longer then 30 seconds. That is way to long.

Not a great ink for $ 0,45/ml. Color is good. I think I am going to give this bottle away ;-)

Here's a desktop you may use freely. It is at 1920 x 1200. Click on this link.

Moleskinefriendly
This ink is not Moleskine-friendly. There's bleed-through on the other side of the paper with a fine-nib fountain pen. Drying time on Moleskine paper is about 15 seconds. On Rhodia more then 30 seconds. As I said in the beginning it is the worst ink I tested of Iroshizuku.

The Iroshizuku ink is a luxurious line of inks created to reflect the beautiful natural scenery of Japan. The gorgeous shades will fill your fountain pen with bold, beautiful and vivid colors. Each bottle is a beautifully crafted glass container designed with an innovative dip at the bottom to ensure the savory enjoyment of every last drop. Every bottle has 50ml and are a great piece of art.

Thanks! you have awesome reviews. Many are on my wishlist. Can you compare this to noodler's sauguro wine?

There is a great (and very reliable) eBay seller here: http://alturl.com/iei5 and there's also here: http://www.missing-pen.de/indexg.htm in Europe. The latter is more expensive but he's already paid customs into the EU, and his shipping won't be so high. Hope that helps...

Can't believe you don't like this ink. I love it! To each her own, of course.
